GDOL Hosts "Starting Your Own Business" Chat

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will host an online chat about “Starting Your Own Business” Wednesday, Nov. 30. The chat will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the GDOL website www.dol.state.ga.us.

The 90-minute, question-and-answer chat is called “Ask T.E.D.” (Type, Explore, Discover). A panel of experts will provide information on writing a business plan; obtaining loans, grants and funding; marketing a business; securing necessary licenses and permits; tax benefits to employers; finding mentors or counselors; local resources to help businesses grow and prosper; and finding qualified employees.

Employers, job seekers, and workforce professionals are encouraged to participate in the chat. Questions may be submitted in advance on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Georgia.Department.of.Labor and Twitter at @GeorgiaDOL and those questions will be answered during the chat.
