
Georgia Department of Transportation District Engineer, Bayne Smith, Jr. has announced that Dana Garrison was selected at Area Engineer serving Clarke, Jackson, Oconee and Walton counties.
Garrison has worked with DOT since 1988. He began his career at DOT as an engineering technician. He moved to the Survey Office until 2001 when he transferred into construction. Garrison worked his way up to Construction Project Manager Two. He then served as a Traffic Operations Engineer. Garrison became the District Environmental Compliance Engineer in 2007. This position was created to help DOT ensure that all of our maintenance activities meet or exceed both State and Federal Environmental regulations. For the last year Garrison served as Assistant Area for Maintenance serving Clarke, Jackson, Oconee and Walton Counties.
Garrison will begin as Area Engineer serving Clarke, Jackson, Oconee and Walton Counties on July 16. He will be responsible for all construction and maintenance activities over 470 centerline miles of state routes in the Area Six Region.

“Dana is a 24 year veteran of the Department. His experience and his “get the work done and open the road” attitude are critical to our focus on customer service. I am proud to name him Area Engineer,” Smith said.
Garrison and his wife, Cammie, live in Jefferson with their 15-year-old son, Colton.
