
Georgia Perimeter College Newton Campus Public Safety Office has been awarded the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant.
"The 'Newton Campus Cares' grant, which is good for one year, is for $7,500. Newton Campus Public Safety is striving to ensure students understand how alcohol affects operation of a motor vehicles and the consequences of not wearing seat belts," said Lt. Andrew Moore.
This grant is federally funded and is for Young Adult Alcohol Awareness and Seat Belt Compliance education. This is the second year the grant has been awarded to GPC Newton Campus Public Safety. Currently, the office is the only law enforcement organization in the state to receive an educational grant to address motorist safety.
