Joyce Chandler has formally announced her candidacy for State House Representative from District 105.

Joyce Chandler is a retired educator with 31 years service as a teacher and counselor.  She presently works as Executive Director of the Student Assistance Professionals Association (SAPA) of Georgia.  In 1995 after being named Georgia’s Secondary Counselor of the Year, she was named National Secondary Counselor of the Year.  She has received other national awards and has served on a number of Boards.  For the past ten years, Joyce has been the volunteer coordinator of a church-based, free tutoring program in the Grayson and Archer Clusters.  This program has served approximately 650 students in kindergarten through 12^th grade.

Chandler’s husband is a retired Navy office and CPA.  She has two children and eight grandchildren.  The Chandlers are active members of Anchor Church in Grayson.
