Miss Gwinnett County's Outstanding Teen Kayla Watson, a junior at Loganville Christian Academy, raised $800 for the Children's Miracle Network by organizing and hosting the Miracle Prom Charity Fashion Show recently. The show was held on January 28 at Monroe Area High School, and included the latest prom gowns from Bravura at the Avenue in Snellville and Girli Girl Boutique in Buford. Models were pageant title holders from throughout Georgia and Tennessee, representing more than 15 different pageant organizations. A representative from Children's Miracle Network was on hand at the event. More than 120 people were in attendance at the show.
"I'm so thankful for the support of the many sponsors, models, volunteers and those who came to watch the show," said 16-year-old Watson, who will compete as Miss Gwinnett this summer for the chance to represent Georgia at Miss America's Outstanding Teen - the teen pageant of the Miss America organization. "I know God will use the money that was raised to bless sick kids who need our help." Watson will visit the Children's Miracle Network hospital office next week to present the $800 donation.
