Moto-X Track Dedicated to Founder at Memorial Race

By all accounts the first annual at the ScrubnDirt Moto-X Track was a resounding success.
"The race went well. We had over 100 riders - no injuries," said Rick Pataky of Scrubndirt Sports Inc. "Everyone can't wait till the next race."

The race was held in honor of John Krieger, former chairman of Walton County Board of Commissioners and the founder of the track, which was formerly known as "A Place to Ride." Krieger died Nov. 29, 2009 after he suffered a medical emergency while riding on the track. His wife, Judy, and son, Jon, and grandson were in attendance at Saturday's race where a memorial to Krieger was unveiled.

While many might remember Krieger's short political career on the Board of Commissions, he was better known for his dedication to the sport of moto-x in the area. He was also known for his Christian faith and his prayer meetings before each race. His Team Jesus shirt was also on display at the memorial race Saturday.
