Authorities Arrest Sex Offender From Walton County

The convicted man allegedly removed his ankle monitor after violating his probation.

Authorities arrested a convicted sex offender in Walton County on Friday (Jan. 10). 

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office alert, William Sprose had removed his ankle monitor in a wooded area off Bold Springs Road and was last seen in an older 80s model Chevrolet van. 

Monroe Local reports that Sprose had removed the monitor when he violated his probation and discovered he would be taken into custody. State officials, with the help of the WCSO, found Sprose on Friday and he is now in custody.
The sex offender registry for Walton County says Sprose is a 47-year-old from Monroe who has brown hair and brown eyes. He was convicted of aggravated sodomy in Georgia in February 1993.The rest of the WCSO alert is as follows:
