Children from FBC of Loganville New State Bible Drill Champions

The purpose of the drill is to help increase believer's knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in handling the Bible, learn how to apply teachings to their life and to develop memory skills.

On Thursday, April 18th, four kids from the First Baptist Church of Loganville became State Bible Drill Champions.

Since early in the fall, these group of kids from Loganville have been practicing for the largest and most recognized Bible Drill competition in the nation. They would meet weekly and practice as a group committing to memory more than 30 bible verses, key passages and their location (while practicing more at home with their parents).  After weeks of preparation, we had six kids compete on the Church and Associational levels.    We are very proud of them and their families for the hard work and dedication they have put into this incredible program.

Bible Drill is a program where kids compete not against each other, but against the clock.  It's purpose is to help increase believer's knowledge of the Bible, develop skills in effectively handling the Bible, learn how to apply the Bible to their life, and begin developing memory skills.  They have 10 seconds to find the correct location and step forward indicating they know the answer.  They are scored based on the number of correct answers they give.  Each Drill has a different, increasingly more difficult goal in order to advance, beginning with a Church Drill, Associational Drill, and culminating with a State Drill.
