City of Grayson Readies for Grayson Day 2013

The 34th Annual Grayson Day is scheduled for this Saturday, April 27, 2013

The countdown begins for The City of Grayson's big event - Grayson Day. This year it is scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 27, 2013. The event takes place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Grayson Community Park. 

The Parade will kick off the festival at 10:00 a.m. and there will be continuous live entertainment in the pavilion throughout the event.

"The parade route is along Grayson Parkway from Bennett Road to Britt Street," said Grayson City Administrator Laura Paul-Cone. "Grayson Parkway between Rosebud and Highway 20 will be closed to "through" traffic except for vendors who are unloading and parking starting at 6:45 a.m. all the way until after the parade."

Grayson Day 2013 is the 34th time the annual event has taken place in Grayson. This year’s grand marshal is scheduled to be Chaunte Lowe, the Grayson High School teacher who is a three-time Olympian.

“Our theme is ‘We Grow great by our Dreams,’” Paul-Cone said.

The Grayson Day Parade will be preceded by the annual Grayson Day Roadrace which begins at 7 a.m.
