Code Orange Smog Alert and Fire Danger on Thursday
There are two weather alerts for the Loganville-Grayson area on Thursday - Georgia's Clean Air Campaign warns of poor air quality for the metro Atlanta area and there is a fire danger warning.

An alert issued on Wednesday afternoon for Thursday by Georgia's Clean Air Campaign forecasts the air quality at 116 - which signifies a Code Orange Smog Alert. The alert is for the metro Atlana area and includes Loganville and Grayson. Gwinnett and Walton counties are included in these alerts. This the second air quality alert in as many days and comes at the same time that we are experiencing potentially record high temperatures.
Because of the predicted concentrations of GROUND-LEVEL OZONE, air quality in metro Atlanta is predicted to be "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups."
Health Advisory:Â Â Air is more likely to be unhealthy for more people. Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone levels are highest.

The fire statement warns of high fire danger conditions for Thursday afternoon and into the early evening for most of north and central Georgia. This is due to low relative humidities of 25 percent or less expected for four or more hours Thursday afternoon and into the early evening. Winds will be west at 5 to 15 mph with guests between 15 and 20 mph at times in the afternoon. With dry fuels, high fire danger conditions can be expected. Refer to local burn permiting regulations before attempting any outdoor burn activities.
