Colonial Buick, GMC Expected to Bring New Jobs to Loganville
At the groundbreaking on Friday, Tom Hollis, president of Colonial Buick, GMC said he hopes to have the new dealership open sometime in August.
City officials and local dignitaries were on hand Friday to welcome Tom Hollis, president of the new Colonial Buick, GMS dealership, that is being built in Loganville. The new building is being constructed by J.M. Williams at property on 3965 Atlanta Highway, Loganville, in Gwinnett County. Friday's groundbreaking officially begins the construction of the new building.
"We're just waiting for permits so we can begin working, and we hope to be finished by August," Hollis said. "We're ready to begin - the silt fencing is already up."
Hollis said he will be closing down the Colonial Buick Dealership in Lawrenceville and moving it to Loganville. He said that the new dealership will employ about 60 to 70 people and although some of them will transfer from the Lawrenceville dealership, he does expect to offer employment in the local area as well.

"And then when we expand there will be more," he said. "Before the downturn we had 80 people so as we grow there will be more jobs available."
Hollis said he and his son, Trey, will be the operators of the Loganville Colonial Buick, GMC. He said he has been made to feel very welcome by the city officials as well as the community and he was looking forward to the move.
