Compete in Loganville American Legion Riders' Chili Cookoff
The top three winners will receive cash prizes at the Friday event.
The American Legion Riders from Post 233 in Loganville are hosting its first annual Chili Cookoff this Friday (Jan. 17).
Open to everyone, the cookoff is part of the post's bimonthly TGIF Party at the Post event. Locals are asked to bring a crockpot of their best chili to compete for the top three spots. First place for best chili wins $100, second place receives $75 and third place gets $50.
If chili isn't your thing, there will be other activities to do, too. DJ Scottie of "Just for Fun Radio" will be playing music so that attendees can dance on the dance floor, and there will be $3 margaritas and $2 beers available.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. but contestants and their chili must be present by 6:30 p.m. There will be a $5 cover. The American Legion Post is located at 4635 Atlanta Hwy. in Loganville. For more information, email fan1923@aol.com or visit www.gapost233.com.
