The following contractors were selected to complete projects:

  • Tri Scapes, Inc., was selected to landscape the corner of Highway 20 and Rosebud Road and work on pedestrian lights around Highway 20. Council and mayor voted to tentatively award the company $$298,821.45 for the project, contingent on GDOT approval.
  • Tri Scapes, Inc., was also selected to complete median landscaping for a tentative award of $47,560. They were the lowest bidder on both projects.
  • E.R. Snell was selected to resurface Brannan Boulevard.
  • A motion was made and approved to award a limited contract to Southern Landscape Group for landscaping on the 438 building.
  • A motion was made and approved to award a contract to Mid-Georgia Pest Control for the remainder of the year for work at the park.
  • A motion was made and approved to award a contract to Electrical Supplies Unlimited (ESU) electrical contractors for various electrical projects.

Mayor and Council also discussed the Title Tax Intergovernmental Agreement. Mayor Hinkle felt that the population count was different from the 2010 census and wants to investigate that further before continuing discussion on the topic.

Mayor and Council Reports

Mayor Hinkle discussed a conversation he had with the owner of the Loganville Chick-fil-A. Corporate Chick-fil-A would like to expand to Grayson, but is unsure of whether it would take business away from the Loganville franchise. As a test, they want to set up a kiosk in the parking lot of Bruster's Ice Cream and sell their products from there. Current zoning ordinances do permit that, but the mayor is concerned about whether it would set a precedent for other franchises.
