Driver Caused Wrecks, Then Ran Away, Sheriff's Office Says

The Walton County Sheriff's Office was looking for the suspect who caused wreck at Miller Bottom and Hwy. 20 Monday morning.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has been looking for the driver of a vehicle that caused a wreck Monday morning while fleeing from authorities.

The agency said on Facebook that the suspect allegedly caused a wreck at Miller Bottom and Highway 20 near Loganville before he wrecked again and ran away.

The incident began early Monday after a deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle call. When the deputy got out of his patrol call, the suspect sped away.

The deputy lost contact with the car but found a wreck at Miller Bottom and Hwy20 caused by the fleeing suspect. Citizens reported another wreck caused by the fleeing suspect in the area. When the deputy arrived, the suspect had fled on foot. A search led the deputies to a house in the area. A search warrant was conducted on the residence but the suspect had fled the area again. An ID has been made on the suspect and warrants are being signed at this time. He also has active warrants out of Gwinnett County.

The sheriff’s office said it believes the suspect has been staying in Gwinnett County, where he faces traffic-related charges.

He is not considered armed or dangerous.
