LOGANVILLE, GA -- Gwinnett County fire investigators have ruled arson as the cause of a mid-morning fire at a dilapidated mobile home in the 100 block of Howe Lane, SW in unincorporated Loganville.

A passerby called 911 on Monday at 8:47 a.m. to report smoke coming from an abandoned trailer. There was no one found inside the trailer and no injuries were reported. The fire caused minor damage to the interior and sent moderate smoke throughout the sparsely furnished structure. Witnesses told investigators that older teens and adults are known to frequent the trailer and may be involved with vandalism and drug activity. Signs of graffiti inside and broken windows littered the mobile home.

According to fire investigators, someone unlawfully entered the mobile home and ignited a small fire. Specific information about how and where the fire was started inside the trailer is not being released at this time based on the ongoing investigation.
