Gwinnett DA’s Office To Host Annual Candlelight Vigil

The Gwinnett DA's Office Victim Witness Program will host its annual Candlelight Vigil for those who have been lost to homicide.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Program will host its annual Candlelight Vigil Thursday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville. This event is used to remember those that have been lost as a result of homicide or vehicular homicide in Gwinnett County. Slain Gwinnett County Police Department Officer Antwan Toney will be among those victims recognized at this year’s event. A reception with light refreshments and ornament making centers will be held prior to the ceremony at 5 p.m. Currently, the event has over 500 people that have RSVP’d.

In addition to the five Crime Victim Remembrance Trees that are on display at the ceremony location, there are trees that have been decorated by the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, Department of Juvenile Justice, Raksha, Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office, Gwinnett County Police Department, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Fatality Review Unit. Agency representatives will be present during the vigil to answer any questions of those that are in attendance.
