The project will widen the two-lane roadway to four-lanes with a two-way center turn lane.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA βGwinnett Countyβs contractor began clearing alongside Hamilton Mill Road this week as the first step in widening the road from Ivy Mill Drive to west of Sardis Church Road.
The project will widen the two-lane roadway to four-lanes with a two-way center turn lane. The project also will realign Pucketts Mill Road to the existing intersection of Hamilton Mill Road and Cascade Falls Drive and will include a new traffic signal. Sidewalks will be installed on both sides of Hamilton Mill within the same limits. Curb and gutter and drainage improvements are included.
Subcontractors for Vertical Earth Inc. will first clear the right of way and install erosion control to make the area ready for the construction crews to follow. Vertical Earth was awarded the contract in July as the lowest of eight responsive bids at $3,400,149.18.
