Hit And Run Van Kills Gwinnett County Man
Police are looking for the driver of a white van who fatally struck a pedestrian on Labor Day evening and fled the scene.
LOGANVILLE — Police are trying to find a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on Lawrenceville Highway at Fairview Drive on Monday evening before driving away.
Around 8:30 p.m., 32-year-old Gabriel Perez Ortiz of Norcross was crossing Lawrenceville Highway at the intersection when he was hit by a white van. Ortiz died from his injuries, Gwinnett County Police said.
No description of the driver has surfaced. Police encourage witnesses to call Gwinnett County Police investigators or Atlanta Crime Stoppers with any information that might be helpful to identifying the driver and making an arrest.
