Legion Auxiliary To Honor 2013 Girls State Delegates

Their achievements will be celebrated with a State Tea at American Legion Post 233 on Sunday. This year the American Legion Boys State delegates also have been invited to attend.

The Georgia Girls/Boys State Luncheon/Tea hosted by American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 233, and American Legion Post,  Loganville, Ga. will take place on April 28, 2013 at l pm at the Barrett-Davis-Watson American Legion Hall, 40&8 meeting room, 4635 Atlanta Highway, Loganville, Ga. 

The Auxiliary is sponsoring eight girls from Walton County Schools, Loganville High, and Walnut Grove High School.  This year the American Legion Post Boy’s State nominee’s also have been invited to attend the luncheon with their parents. This year the Post has nominated 13 boys.

Girls State is "a nonpartisan program that teaches young women responsible citizenship and love for God and Country," according to their website. Girls State is organized by the American Legion. The girls are chosen by their high school counselors to represent their schools and are in the top third of their class.
