Loganville Area Waffle House One of Four Hit By Crime Ring
Two women play loud music to detract from sound of a man cutting through the restroom wall to gain access to manager's office.

Gwinnett County police confirmed that the Waffle House at 2725 Loganville Highway in unincorporated Gwinnett was one of four that has been hit in recent months by a crime ring.
Sgt. Brian Doan with the Gwinnett County Police Department said four Waffle House restaurants have been robbed in recent weeks using a similar method. In addition to Loganville, another was at the Waffle House at 2320 Satellite Blvd. In Duluth and the other two incidents are being investigated by Oakwood Police.
Doan said the incident at the Loganville area Waffle House happened at 1:48 a.m. on May 23 and involved two female suspects and one male.

“They entered the restaurant and the two females sat in a booth closest to the bathroom. The male suspect went straight to the bathroom. Once inside the bathroom the male cuts a hole in the ceiling,” Daon said, adding that at the same time the female lookouts play constant music from the juke box to cause noise for distraction. “After cutting the hole in the ceiling, the male uses the sink to climb into the ceiling and crawl across to the manager’s office. He then removes the ceiling above the office and drops down in. The male is then able to open the safe and remove the cash inside. Once done, he crawls back through the ceiling into the bathroom and notifies the female lookouts. The male then exits the bathroom shortly followed by the lookouts and they all return to a black passenger car and leave the scene.”
WSBTV reported that in some instances a man and a woman have acted as decoys as the first man enters the bathroom and cuts his way through to gain access to the manager’s office. Authorities are therefore looking for a total of four people, two men and two women, in connection with these robberies.
