- A grand jury has indicted the man at the center of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office investigation into human trafficking, launched in January. - Advanced voting in Walton County has begun and officials say the turnout has been high. Lisa Clark, assistant director of Walton County Elections, said, “It was more than what we typically do in the first week. I would say it is more comparable to what we had in the 2020 Presidential Election.” The first week is usually the slowest and turnout tends to pick up every week. As of Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, a total of 7,130 Walton County residents had successfully voted in person at the three early voting precincts: one in Monroe, one in Loganville, and one in Social Circle. - The ACT scores for Gwinnett students continue to be higher than state and national scores. Students in the Class of 2022 took the ACT from 10th to 12th grade and showed a slight decrease over the Class of 2021's ACT scores. Both Georgia's Class of 2022 and Gwinnett's Class of 2022 beat the national average of 19.8. (Gwinnett County Public Schools)
