Loganville Middle FFA Gives Back to the Community
Learning young to be contributing members of the community.

This year, Loganville Middle School FFA members made great strides when it comes to service and volunteering in their local community. During the summer, the Chapter set down and planned out a variety of projects that would allow student-members to engage in and develop their leadership and service skills in the Loganville community.
During the Christmas holidays, FFA members joined with Loganville High FFA at Southern Plantation Senior Center by singing Christmas carols and handing out cards to the residents. In addition, during the FFA Chapter Christmas Meeting, FFA members held a ‘Quarter Drive’ in which members donated quarters to be used to purchase Christmas gifts for an under-served Walton County student.
In January, LMS FFA members teamed up with the staff of F.I.S.H. and volunteered for an afternoon of sorting clothing, tagging items, and hanging apparel ready to be sold. The student’s had a blast and it didn’t seem like work at all. The FFA Chapter hopes to continue this partnership each year with the F.I.S.H. organization.

Finally, the LMS FFA Chapter will end the school year by traveling to Macon, Georgia on April 25th where they will, as a part of the State FFA Convention, take on the task of painting a local Macon resident’s home with the Rebuilding Macon Project. Mr. Walker, LMS FFA Advisor and agriculture teacher, says that “middle school FFA members are very hard working and ready to give back to their community by participation in service projects, which makes my job a pleasure.”
