Loganville Officials Take Oath of Office

The mayor and three city council members were sworn in Thursday.

Four Loganville officials took the oath of office Thursday (Jan. 9) at the first city council meeting of 2014.

Mayor Dan Curry, Vice Mayor Mark Kiddoo, Councilman Rey Martinez were sworn in to renew their terms, and former Councilman Chuck Bagley also joined them after being elected in November.

"What a difference a year makes," said Martinez after being sworn in. "This time last year I was serving our country in the Middle East. Today, and for the next four years, I will serve the great citizens of this great city I call Loganville."

"The economy appears to be turning upward," said Curry. "I think we have a grand opportunity to move forward in a very positive way."

Curry has been on the council since 2011 and has served as mayor since July 2013 after former Mayor Ray Nunley passed away.

Bagley previously served on the council from 2005 to 2008. He replaces former Councilwoman Michelle Lynch, who did not run for re-election when her term ended in 2013.

Kiddoo, who's been on the council for nine years, also was voted in to serve again as vice mayor.
