James D. Caufman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a true Patriot, age 88 of Loganville, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, July 13 in the Lawrenceville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Snellville, GA. Mr. Caufman served in the United States Army during the Invasion of France, received a Purple Heart for his wounds on the 16th of July 1944 at The Battle of The Bulge, received two (2) Oak Clusters and six (6) Battle Stars. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Clara Florene Caufman; son and daughter-in-law – Roger and Linda Diane Caufman, all of Loganville, GA; grandchildren – Russell and Leslie Caufman, of Demorest, GA; Christopher and Deborah Caufman, of VA; and great grandchildren – Hannah Caufman, Nathan Caufman and Cameron Caufman. Flowers accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Gideons, Post Office Box 140800, Nashville, TN or The Salvation Army, 3455 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30045 in Mr. Caufman’s name.
