Obituary and Funeral Arrangements: Jim Jarrell, 68, of Loganville

Jim Jarrell, age 68, of Loganville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Ann Jarrell; four children, Steve Jarrell (Jennifer) of Murfreesboro, TN, Michele Lyons (Joe) of Germanton, TN, Mike Jarrell (Rebecca) of Atlanta, GA, and Brian Jarrell of Loganville, GA; five grandchildren, Samantha, Richard, Sara, Nick and Olivia; father-in-law, Virgil Whitten of Olive Branch, MS; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Whitten (Joan) of Kingsport, TN and Gary Whitten (Donna) of Collierville, TN; numerous friends.

Jim Jarrell was born on November 1, 1944 in Whitesville, West Virginia to James Howard Jarrell and Virginia Morris Jarrell. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during Vietnam, where he received a Bronze Star. Jim was a software engineer and owner of Jarrell Systems, Inc. He enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball and was a loyal fan of the University of Tennessee. Jim’s greatest joy was watching his family members excel in their God given talents; from his sons playing baseball to watching his wife, Ann, play flute in the church orchestra. Jim was a member at Snellville First Baptist Church. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. 

The Service Honoring the Life of Jim Jarrell will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 4:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel with Dr. Jim Stallings officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday before the service from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
