John J. Ranne, Jr., age 64, of Loganville, Georgia, died Sunday, April 7, 2013. John was born in New Haven, CT on May 12, 1948. He was a 1966 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Rose Acabbo Ranne; two daughters & sons-in-law, Pamela Ranne Marino (Pasquale) of New Guilford, CT, and Linda Ranne Barberi (Jonathan) of Snellville, GA. He was also the best “poppy” to Jackson & Ella Barberi, and Gennaro Marino. He is also survived by his mother, Adriana DeCapua Ranne; brothers, Robert and Bill; and sisters, Mary Melman, Peggy Bender, Nancy Carroll (Kevin), Cathy DeFilippo; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. John was born in New Haven, Connecticut on May 12, 1948. He was a 1966 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and worked with Cox Enterprises at the Atlanta Journal Constitution for over 12 years. John was an avid New York Yankees fan and his greatest joy in life was being with his family and enjoying the company of his friends. This kind, gentleman will be greatly missed by his adoring family. A special thanks goes out to the Medical ICU nurses at Gwinnett Medical Center for the excellent love and care given to John. It was John’s request to be cremated and there are no formal services selected at this time. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O.
