Play a Round of Golf With LFD and Support the Department's Charities
The Loganville Fire Department's annual charity golf tournament tees off at 9 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013.

Late Thursday afternoon Loganville Fire Department Battalion Chief Carl Morrow was finalizing details for the big annual charityΒ golf tournament scheduled forΒ July 26, 2013. He said he was just going over the door prizes and making sure everything was in order for the event. Last minute would-be competitors still have until 8 a.m. Friday to sign up if they want to participate.
"We have 70 people who have committed to play, 62 of them are signed up already," Morrow said. "The course tells me they can handle about 125 people, so there is room. If anyone wants to walk up, we will give them a spot on a first come first served basis if there is room. They can play as a team of four or sign up by themselves."
This is theΒ Second Annual Loganville Fire Department Golf Tournament to raise funds for the charities that the department supports.
"We support theΒ Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation," Morrow said. "That is where the money is going from this golf tournament."Β
The golf tournament will take place on at the Bear Creek Golf Course, 4125 Lakeside Blvd, Monroe. Registration is at 8 a.m. with the shotgun start following at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served.
The cost for a team of four is $300 or $75 a person.

"We have hamburgers and hot dogs, as supplies last," Morrow said. "I have supplies for about 120 people."
Morrow said door prizes include golf balls, a cooler, a grill as well as some smaller gifts from local businesses and gift cards from places like Lowe's, Chili's, Five Guys, etc.
