The woman told officers she spoke to the suspect over the phone and agreed to meet him in Georgia to sell the puppies.
“The suspect told the victim that he would pay her extra to drive the puppies to Lawrenceville,” Gwinnett Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said in the Friday morning email. “After the two met, the suspect pushed the victim and grabbed one of the puppies from the victim’s hands. He then grabbed the other puppy from a carrier and fled on foot.”
The lead investigator identified Camenish as the suspect. He was arrested at his residence.
The puppies were found in the basement unharmed, and were returned to the woman.
