Suspect Charged With Murder In Connection With Lilburn Death

Gwinnett County Sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect Monday believed to be connected to an August incident on Beaver Ruin Road in Lilburn.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A suspect believed to be connected to the shooting death of a Snellville man in August was arrested Monday and charged with murder, according to Gwinnett police.

Christopher Jean-Pierre was located Monday by Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with the felony murder of Julius Vance, 22, during what authorities believe was a drug-related incident. Jean-Pierre also was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime.

Vance was one of three men with gunshot wounds who were found by authorities after an Aug. 2 incident on Beaver Ruin Road in unincorporated Lilburn. The other two victims survived their injuries.

Gwinnett County Police detectives are still investigating the incident.
