Three Care Homes In Grayson, Loganville Report Coronavirus Cases
Two personal-care homes in Grayson and one in Loganville report positive tests for the coronavirus, with three deaths reported among them.
LOGANVILLE-GRAYSON, GA — Two personal-care homes in Grayson and one in Loganville have cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, according to a report released Friday by the Georgia Department of Health.
- Dogwood Forest of Grayson reports two positive tests for the coronavirus and one death out of 104 residents as of Friday.
- Benton House of Grayson reports one positive test and no deaths out of 59 residents as of Friday.
- The Pearl at Loganville reports two positive tests and two deaths out of 27 residents as of Friday.
No employees tested positive at any of the facilities.

As of noon Monday, 1,164 cases of COVID-19 and 42 deaths total were reported in Gwinnett County. All of the deceased were 63 or older, and most had underlying health conditions. In Walton County where The Pearl at Loganville is located, 62 cases have been reported with only three deaths, all of them 74 or older.
Nursing homes and long-term care facilities have been hit especially hard — with 250 deaths out of 689 total as of Friday across Georgia, such facilities account for more than a third of the state’s deaths. Older people and those with chronic underlying conditions are especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.
