Triple Shooting, One Dead, One Arrested, In Gwinnett: Police

A triple shooting at a Gwinnett apartment complex left one man dead and two wounded. Another man was charged with murder, police said.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — One man is dead, two more are wounded and another man is charged with murder after a triple shooting over the weekend in Duluth.

Gwinnett County police who answered a call Friday night at The Falls Parkway apartment complex on Satellite Boulevard found three men with gunshot wounds, one of them dead.

The deceased was identified as Omar Torres, 38. A second victim, Jose Torres, 22, is currently in an intensive care unit, according to Gwinnett police spokesperson Hideshi Valle. The third victim, Erick Torres, 27, was treated and released.

Soon thereafter, a SWAT team found Rene Martinez, 30, himself with what appeared to be a gunshot wound, in an apartment at the nearby Landmark at Bella Vista complex. He was taken to a local hospital, Valle said.

Martinez was arrested and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. Investigators say they believe the shootings followed a domestic dispute.
