Here are the top three stories today in Macon:
- Bibb County Sheriff's Office Animal Enforcement Officer Rebecca Galeazzo captured a live alligator in a front yard in Macon. The medium sized alligator, at four feet and six inches long, was nicknamed "wild bill" and deputies called him "a little angry and slightly crazy." Wild Bill was successfully captured unharmed and was released back into the wild, away from humans. (13WMAZ.com)
- Torey Antwan Burnette, 33, was arrested by Bibb County investigators in connection to the murder of 21-year-old Zyshown Dunn on Sunday, Apr. 2. Dunn was fatally shot after an altercation on Log Cabin Drive. Burnette has been charged with murder and is being held at Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. (wgxa.tv)
- Today, Apr. 4, Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller will ask lawmakers at the Commission meeting to review speed limits on the county's residential, arterial, and collector roads. In the last four years, over 300 pedestrians have been hit by cars in Bibb County. According to an analysis of the data, most of the pedestrian incidents in Macon involved speed as a contributing factor in the accidents. (wgxa.tv)

From my notebook:
- The residents of Piece Avenue in Macon are speaking up about repeated calls for the road to be repaired, to no avail. Pierce Avenue is the only road access for eight residences. One resident said for the past three years, she has had to enter her home through the back door due to the horrible conditions of the road at the front of her home. Macon-Bibb County claims it is not responsible for the road because whoever developed the property had failed to ask the city to take responsibility. The property owners have failed to repair the road as well and would have to fund the repairs themselves or apply to the city to fix it. (wgxa.tv)
- Bibb County deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Donmeico Mounice Flowers. Flowers was shot during a fight involving several people at a residence on the 100 block of Hall Street on Saturday, Apr. 1. (wgxa.tv)
