Macon Water Authority addresses discolored water concerns after reports from locals (13wmaz.com) — Macon Water Authority says county tap water is safe to drink, despite many residents reporting cloudy, greenish-brown discoloration since a major industrial fire earlier this month. Officials link the issue to sediment stirred up by high water demand and are flushing hydrants, expecting clearer water within about two days. People with problems are urged to call customer service.
   

2. Elizabeth Wilson Trigg, 85 (douglasnow.com) — Macon is mourning the passing of 85-year-old Elizabeth “Beth” Wilson Trigg, a longtime resident remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and former hotel manager. She was also known for running a peach stand off I-75 north of Macon, and her family will honor her wishes with cremation and no formal services.
   

3. LIST: 2025 Christmas lights displays in Central Georgia (13wmaz.com) — Downtown Macon and Mercer Village are lit up for the holidays, with displays running into early January that you can still plan to visit. Macon officials optimistic about Ocmulgee Mounds bill despite snag in Senate (mvskokemedia.com) — Macon leaders remain hopeful that Congress will upgrade Ocmulgee Mounds to a full National Park despite fresh opposition from the National Park Service in a recent Senate hearing. Local advocates say the change could bring major tourism growth to Macon and central Georgia, even as lawmakers continue debating the park’s size and federal management costs.
