Here are the top three stories in Macon today:
- Macon’s historic Terminal Station was briefly closed on Monday due to flooding. Jami Gaudet with the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority said the combination of rain and wind caused the station to flood. According to Gaudet, MTA buses continued to run during the closure, but there would be detours "whenever and wherever necessary." (41 NBC News)
- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is searching for two men in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a Macon Dollar General on Sunday. According to a press release, two men entered the store on Emery Highway with handguns around 9:00 p.m. on Mar. 26 and demanded money from the register before running away. No one was injured during the incident, and officials are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME. (13 WMAZ)
- On Mar. 27, Bibb County Sheriff's Office Lt. Sean DeFoe said that people should avoid travel unless absolutely necessary due to flooded roads and fallen trees in Macon. He also told drivers to treat any traffic lights without power as a four-way stop until power is restored. Parts of Amerson River Park closed due to flooding, and the Macon-Bibb Tax Commissioner’s office and City Hall were all temporarily closed. (13 WMAZ)
