- The American Red Cross Central Midwest Georgia Chapter is providing temporary housing for those who have been displaced by flooding in Macon. The Sunday and Monday storms have led to over 150 people needing housing, and the Macon community has stepped up in a big way to provide support for its neighbors. - What was thought to be a gentle storm ended up being much more than imagined, as one Macon resident was woken up by a tree uprooted in her kitchen. Around 8 a.m., Latonya Hallman was woken by a crash and found several rooms damaged, her car smashed, and her home split in two by a tree. Several areas of Macon suffered from trees being ripped out of the ground, fallen powerlines, and power outages. Now that the storm has passed, Macon residents are looking forward positively and making efforts to clean and repair. (13WMAZ.com)
- The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a shooting that took place Monday afternoon, resulting in a 19-year-old being hospitalized. Officers responded to a call around 2:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of Boulevard, where they found a 19-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a medical facility, where he received treatment and remains in stable condition as of Tuesday.
