Suspected Drunk Driver Hits Off-Duty Officer, State Trooper (Update)
An officer and a trooper were struck by an alleged drunk driver early Saturday morning on Interstate 85 in Midtown. The driver was charged.

MIDTOWN, GA -- An off-duty Atlanta police officer and a Georgia state trooper were hit by an alleged drunk driver in Midtown early Saturday morning.
Officer Eric Jensen was assisting people in an overturned vehicle on I-85 south near 17th Street at approximately 3:45 a.m. when he was hit, FOX 5 Atlanta reports.
A Georgia state trooper at the scene was also hit by the same car, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

He was alert when an ambulance arrived to transport him to Grady Memorial Hospital and he has since been released from the facility, according to FOX 5. The trooper was not hospitalized, according to the state patrol.
20-year-old Selina S. Siharath of Montgomery, the driver who allegedly hit Jensen and the trooper, has been charged with DUI, reckless driving, failure to move over for emergency personnel, and failure to use due care, the state patrol says.
