Grady High School Releases Music Midtown Street Closure Info

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Journey, Queens of the Stone Age and more playing at this year's Music Midtown!

Friday, September 20th:  Beginning at 8 am, 10th Street will be completely closed from Charles Allen to Monroe Avenue.  Only cars with a GHS Access Permit will be allowed to enter 10th Street from Charles Allen or Monroe before, during and after school hours until 4:30pm.  At 4:30 pm, 10th Street will become a pedestrian walkway from Myrtle to Monroe.

  • If you do not have the GHS Access Permit on Friday, 9/20, you will be directed to turn onto 8th street when approaching Charles Allen or Monroe in the morning, during and after school.
  • After 4:30 pm, pickup will only be possible from 8th street. No traffic will be allowed on 10th Street from Myrtle to Monroe.  Only residents in the neighborhood (with a Residential Access Permit or Drivers License) will be allowed to drive on 10th street and a few other streets in the neighborhood.  Plan your route accordingly!  After 4:30 pm the GHS Access Permit will NOT allow you access to 10th Street.
  • All cars need to be out of the Grady Parking Lot on 10th street by 4:30 pm, or you will not be able to get your car until after the concert ends and the street reopens around midnight.
  • Pickup after the (AWAY) football game will be from 8th street.  Buses will be allowed to return to the 10th Street lot, but no cars will be allowed. The GHS Access Permit will NOT give you access to 10th Street. 
Saturday, September 21:  10th street will be completely closed from Charles Allen to Monroe at 11 am, and from Myrtle to Monroe at Noon. 
  • Only residents of the neighborhood will be allowed access after 11 am
  • School will be accessible from 8th street until Noon. 
  • All cars should be out of the 8th street parking lot by Noon or earlier, unless you are parked there for an AWAY school event.  Music Midtown will be using and will have security at the 8th street lot.  The GHS Access Permit will not allow you to park in the 8th street lot.
