Inaugural ATL Boutique Week Set to Commence in One Week

The week will conclude with a party for all merchants and customers at Kai Lin Art on Saturday, October 5.

The inaugural "ATL Boutique Week" will take place September 30 - October 5, featuring exclusive 15 percent discounts at select local retailers for all non-sale merchandise items, available both in-store and online.

The initiative is intended to raise awareness and support local retailers, as well as benefit consumers on several fronts, most importantly by providing them access to stores they may not have known about previously.

"Local stores are the cornerstone of economic development in metro Atlanta and urban areas across the country,"  said Janelle Jolley, founder of ATL Boutique Week.  "They have a quantifiable economic impact that directly correlates to the health of the economies that surround them.  The concept is a win-win for both the participating stores and consumers, while celebrating Atlanta's diverse retail offerings in neighborhoods across the region.

Jolley added the word "boutique" doesn't just mean clothing. Boutique is a term for any number of curated local independent retailers: apparel, gift, home decor and pet too.

The list of participating stores includes Bilthouse, Collage, Dress Up, Meringue, Nest, Roost, Sole, and Xclusivelyu. Buckhead, Vinings, Downtown Decatur, Little Five Points and Virginia Highland are just some of the neighborhoods represented.

One of the most unique aspects of the week is the "Set Up Shop Contest" in which individuals can submit their ideas for a new retail store.  At the week's conclusion, one person will receive a check to help launch his or her store.   A portion of proceeds raised during the week will go support this program.

The week will conclude with a party for all merchants and customers at Kai Lin Art on Saturday, October 5, located at 999 Brady Avenue, Suite 7 in Atlanta from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Retailers can still become a part of ATL Boutique Week for as little as $125  and benefit from distribution of the week's information to more than 20,000 premium shoppers, exposure to social media across multiple platforms, search engine optimization for the week itself, inclusion on a map created for the week, and same day courier delivery for online purchases,
