Midtown MARTA Station Shut Down Due To Smoke

ATLANTA, GA -- MARTA's Midtown station was evacuated Monday morning after reports that smoke was coming from the corridor, Patch has learned. The smoke has dissipated, but officials are reportedly investigating the cause of it.

MARTA posted a message on Twitter telling the public that there were major delays "due to a problem." The Midtown station is a major artery of the rail system's North-South lines, which extend from Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport's station in College Park to split routes that go to Doraville and Northsprings stations respectively.
