'Midtown Puncher' Strikes Again

Curtis Bethea was arrested in January for sucker punching random pedestrians, but has since been released. He is allegedly back on the hunt.

Atlanta police say the man they arrested in January for assaulting random pedestrians in Midtown has gone back to his old tricks.

Curtis Bethea, the alleged ”Midtown Puncher,” is accused of sucker punching a high school student walking along Crescent Avenue shortly after he was released from jail on Oct. 28, WSB-TV says. He had been incarcerated from January to July on aggravated battery charges, and returned to jail in September on charges of simple assault.

Detectives used bank security camera footage which captured the attack to identify Bethea as the suspect in the attack on the high school student, WSB-TV says. The victim suffered head trauma and damage to his right ear.
