Atlanta firefighters have contained a fire that ravaged an abandoned apartment complex in southeast Atlanta on Monday afternoon, officials told Patch.

Crews were at Berne and Eloise streets combating a fire which had fully engulfed one apartment building and had spread to a second, department spokesman Cortez Stafford said.

Firefighters have contained the fire and it is now mostly extinguished, with some hotspots left to be dealt with. Stafford said the operation may take slightly longer than normal due to the number of buildings involved and the intensity of the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire or the firefighting operation, Stafford said.
