Tech Student Pistol Whipped During Armed Robbery Attempt

The student refused to hand over his wallet to the robbers, who left without taking anything.

A Georgia Tech student is lucky to be alive after he refused to give in to the demands of an armed robber and his accomplice over the weekend, an Atlanta police report states.

The student was getting into a friend’s vehicle in front of his house on State Street between 9 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday when he was approached by two black males, one of whom had a silver revolver. The two men demanded the student’s wallet and cell phone.

After the student refused to give up his valuables, he was struck in the face with the revolver and the two men fled towards 14th Street. The victim got into his friend’s car and they drove to the Georgia Tech precinct, where Atlanta police were summoned to take over the case. The victim later drove himself to Emory Hospital for treatment of lacerations to his forehead and nose, the report says.
