• Midway City Council approves $3.7 million budget for FY 2026 (thecurrentga.org) — Midway’s outgoing City Council has approved a $3.8 million budget for 2026, driven largely by launching a full-time fire department and financing two new fire trucks. The plan raises projected General Fund revenues, sharply increases Municipal Court fines, shifts $100,000 from the Water Fund as a management fee, and boosts spending on festivals, website upgrades, and Cay Creek Nature Preserve repairs.
