Stolen Dirt Bike, Jeep Cherokee and Cases Investigated by WCSO

Walton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the following incidents during the period July 1 - 8, 2013. This report was compiled from the WCSO Zone Alerts.

Zone 1

• Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted two safety checks on HD Atha Rd. at Monroe Jersey Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
• Theft - A case of alcohol was reportedly stolen from B&J Package store. 

Zone 3

• Suspicious Vehicle - A box-style U-Haul truck was seen driving slowly in front of residences in the areas of Hwy 186 and Pleasant Valley Rd. Extra Patrol requested.
• Damage to Property - Damages to a vehicle were reported on Hwy. 11.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Deer Creek Lane. All windows and doors were secure.
• Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Hwy 186 at Hanson Quarry. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. 
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Brush Creek Dr. in Brush Creek subdivision. All windows and doors were secure. 

Zone 4

• Extra Patrol - The meter panel at a residence on Wall Rd was removed. The power going into the residence was cut off.
• Extra Patrol - Extra patrol was requested on Daniel Cemetery Rd. in reference to a suspicious white pickup truck driving slowly in the area.
• Burglary Report - A window was found open at a residence in Broach Rd. No items were reported missing.

Zone 5

• Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Piney Grove Rd. at Summit Lane. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. 
• Criminal Trespass - A subject was issued a Criminal Trespass warning for riding a 4-wheeler and dirt bike on properties located off Hwy 11.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Oakmont Way in Oakmont subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
• Theft - A theft was reported at a vacant residence on Double Springs Rd.
• Vehicle Accident - A vehicle ran off the road at Hwy 81 at Shiloh Rd. across from Royal Mobile Home Park.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a church on Etchison Rd. All doors and windows appeared secure.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Maple Ridge Court. All windows and doors appeared secure.
• Damage - Two white males on ATV's reportedly damaged property on Jennifer Court.
• Extra Patrol - Vehicles were reportedly running stop signs on Forest Court in Forest Ridge subdivision.
• Entering Auto - A purse was reportedly taken from a vehicle at a business on Hwy 78.
• Suspicious Vehicle - A red Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300 occupied by three white males was seen parked in River Colony subdivision on Kings Court.
• Theft - Five fishing poles were reportedly stolen from a residence on Alton Green Rd.; a white male and a white female were arrested for the theft. The property was returned to the owner.
• Damage - Unknown persons placed a sparkler bomb inside the mailbox at a residence on Hickory Grove Church Rd. The mailbox exploded and the fire department responded and put out the fire. This was the third incident in three weeks in which someone tried to set the mailbox on fire at this residence.

Zone 6

• Extra Patrol - Extra patrol was requested at Moon Tree Farm in reference to trash being dumped on the property.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on McCullers Lane in McCullers Acres subdivision. All appeared secure.
• Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Miller Bottom Rd. at South Sharon Church Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. 
• Burglary Report - A crossbow was reportedly taken from a garage on Brookstone Lane.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Winding Grove Lane in Waverly subdivision. All appeared secure.
• Damage - Gravel was reportedly thrown at a vehicle on McCullers Rd. near Jackson Mobile Home Park. Extra patrol was requested.
• Alarm - Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence on Mill Court in Harrison Mill subdivision. All appeared secure.
• Theft - A cell phone was reportedly taken from a residence on Golden Meadows Lane in Golden Meadows subdivision.

Zone 7

• Prowler - Damages to the front door at a residence on Kathleen Lane were reported. Extra patrol requested.
• Safety Check - Walton County deputies conducted a two safety checks on Hwy 81 at Robertson Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. 
• Burglary - A dirt bike was reportedly taken from a residence on Leona Ave.
• Entering Auto – A vehicle was entered on Monroe Jersey Rd. A wallet was taken from the vehicle.
• Stolen Vehicle – A green 1997 Jeep Cherokee was taken from a residence on Cannon Farm Rd. The victim’s girlfriend is suspected of taking the vehicle.
