Final Pocket Park Work Day of the Summer This Saturday
Concrete was poured on the lower level last week!

If you've taken a stroll through downtown Monroe lately, you likely noticed the progress that has been made on the construction of the city's Pocket Park, which is located beside Albert's Shoe Repair on Broad Street.
The project has been a labor of love for volunteers all summer and just last week, concrete was poured on the lower level, according to the Monroe Downtown Development Authority.
The final work day of the summer will be held this Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to clean the site, plant beds and fill dirt in the beds. To sign up for a task, visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/904044BA4AA2CA20-pocket.
