Monroe Library to Host Fun Program for Children With DJ Ernie
The educational, fun and interactive program for kids, teenagers and adults will take place at the Monroe-Walton County Library at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 12.

Having difficulty trying to find something for the kids to do with all this rain? Monroe-Walton County is offering something that may give you a little help this week.
At 3 p.m. on Friday, DJ Ernie Rogers will perform an education, fun and interactive program for kids, teenagers as well as adults.
According to Monroe Downtown, "Big Ernie's lecture and performing topics include the subjects of art, music, anthropology, percussion and rhythm. With the use of percussion, music and slide presentations, he performs to CD tracks recorded from cultures of the world including Africa, South America, North America, Mexico, the Caribbean, SouthEast Asia, China, Japan, the Middle East, India and Europe."

Those attending the program will have the opportunity to perform with a percussion instrument while listening and watching the show creating an "interactive togetherness." The audience will learn about different countries and how their culture affects each other as well as the art and culture from countries of the world.
The library is located at 217 W Spring St., Monroe.
