• MPD Reports: Woman having a medical emergency transported to the hospital by Walton EMS after officer noticed her turn her flashers on (monroelocal.org) — Monroe police recently handled a wide range of calls, from helping a woman having a medical emergency on East Church Street to resolving disputes and unlocking vehicles around town. Officers also made several checks at local businesses, investigated a juvenile runaway, and arrested four people on drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop on Highway 138.
   

• Carol Pritchett Prescott (barnesville.com) — Longtime Monroe resident Carol Pritchett Prescott, 82, has passed away at her home, leaving behind her husband Perry, son Jeff, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all in Monroe. A devoted church and community volunteer, she was active at Monroe First United Methodist Church after moving here. A graveside service will be held later in Wrightsville, and friends can share condolences online.
