• Monroe Bypass future at stake (monroelocal.org) — Local leaders are pushing hard to finish the Monroe Bypass so traffic no longer funnels back onto Highway 11 near Publix and the nearby schools. Walton County commissioners and the city of Monroe agreed to jointly hire a lobbying firm, spending $8,500 a month for six months, to convince state lawmakers to prioritize the second leg of the State Route 83 Connector.
