Time to Clean and Inspect Heating Units, Monroe Fire Chief Says

Officials in Monroe will be asked to respond to three questions from time to time. This will give Monroe's residents the opportunity to find out a little more about what is going on in the city - and to get to know their public officials a little better.

Here is what Monroe Fire Chief had to say.

Question 1 - What is new in your department?

With all the rain we've been getting we've had crews out cutting away the grass and weeds that's overgrowing any fire hydrants so they can easily be seen.

Question 2 - What is something residents in the City of Monroe should know?

Most of you have already felt the cool wisp of fall in the air. Now is the time to clean and inspect any heating units in your house. Don't wait till it's time to turn it on in another couple of months. Have a certified professionals inspect your fire place and chimney and any HVAC systems.

Question 3 - What is your favorite way to relax?

Spending time with my wife and kids.
