11K Gallons of Raw Sewage Spills Into Burnt Fork Creek
The spill occurred following a sewer main break near Azalea Circle yesterday.

More than 11,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into Burnt Fork Creek yesterday after a sewer main broke near Azalea Circle, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The county blamed the break on Monday's heavy rains, which caused the main to overflow. Before work crews were able to replace the broken section of pipe, 11,480 gallons spilled into the creek.
The county is readying a $1.35 billion upgrade to its water and sewer system in the next year to meet federal Environmental Protection Agency demands.
